Zeeland, May 1 – On May 1, our external HR employee departed from Zeeland for a special and long-awaited sailing trip towards the Baltic Sea. Over the next 5 months, he will sail past all the neighboring EU countries. This adventure is all about freedom, nature, and discovering new horizons.
The journey aboard the sailboat De Loxley is a personal milestone for the skipper, focusing on long sailing days and changing conditions on open water.
During the preparations and the start of the trip, an unexpected problem was discovered: one of the windows in the boat's cabin turned out to be defective. Because reliability and safety at sea are essential, this window had to be replaced quickly and professionally.
Custom solution in PMMA with scratch-resistant coating
Nanogate took up the challenge and provided a suitable solution in the form of a custom-made PMMA (polymethyl methacrylate) window. This high-quality material is known for its excellent optical clarity and suitability for maritime applications.
The window was milled to exact specifications in our factory so that it fit perfectly with the existing structure of the cabin. Subsequently, the window was treated with a scratch-resistant coating, making it more resistant to harsh conditions at sea, such as saltwater, wind, sand, and heavy use.
Careful installation on board De Loxley
After production, the window was expertly installed on-site by one of our experienced employees. The photo shows how the PMMA window is carefully sealed and integrated into the cabin structure of the sailboat.
Precisely sealing the window is a crucial step, especially in a maritime environment.
Reliability, even outside the industry
Although Nanogate is active daily in industrial and technical applications, this project demonstrates that our expertise is also valuable in other sectors. Whether it concerns high-tech applications, industrial panels, or custom maritime solutions: we deliver solutions where precision and quality come first.
Furthermore, this project with De Loxley emphasizes the importance of flexibility and proactive thinking in unique situations. Acting quickly, delivering custom solutions, and ensuring customers can proceed without delay always remains our guiding principle.
Wishing you a safe voyage
Nanogate looks back with pride on this contribution to a special journey. We wish the skipper of De Loxley a safe voyage, favorable winds, and an unforgettable trip towards the Baltic Sea.
May this adventure be filled with beautiful moments, safe harbors, and inspiring experiences on the water.
